Ampersand Vocal Chamber Ensemble                                                                           Friday, February 16th at 7:30pm

Vermont-based vocal chamber ensemble Ampersand presents a 65-minute a cappella program called Midwinter, celebrating the stark beauty of midwinter with music & poetry. Friday, February 16 at 7:30pm. Doors at 7pm. Admission is by donation. Works include Renaissance polyphony by Tallis, Byrd, Lassus, and Manchicourt, music from the first half of the 20th century by Parry and Poulenc, and contemporary music by Andrew Balfour. Ampersand’s ensemble is made up of six world-class vocalists, including members of the Grammy-nominated choir of Trinity Wall Street, the GRAMMY-winning new music ensemble The Crossing, and Grammy-nominated Clarion Choir. This concert event marks the return of the ensemble after a several-year hiatus.
